Speak Up!

The news of my death has been greatly exaggerated! I am not dead, just bored. I maintained this site after its former owner became disenchanted with it. I saw the "Scoop" as a viable medium for us "Deltans" to express our views of what really concerns us... and for the most part, it has done just that.

My initial goal for the "Scoop" was to inform and raise awareness of local issues that "advertisers" will NOT allow to be printed in the local press. The "Scoop's" promise of anonymity has been strictly enforced and we have gained hundreds of loyal readers and contributors over the last 6 years. A blog is no better than its topics and its contributors. Lately, it seems that we have become somewhat complacent and rather stale.

Here's the challenge: Give us your opinion on any topic and let's get a lively debate going! Okay, it's a local blog about the Delta, but there are many national issues which will affect all of our lives in the future. Haley Barbour for President? "Don't ask, don't tell"... the "Tea Party"?

I love the "Scoop" and many other blogs, because they are open venues for expressing my likes, dislikes, opinions or just rants and raves. In my varied careers, I have been forced to say many things that were politically "correct", but basically contradicted my personal beliefs. When I discovered the "Delta Scoop" and several other good blogs, I felt liberated! Finally, I could say whatever the hell I wanted and simply not give a damn whether I got an "Amen" or a "F-U".

Someone provide me with their "argument" for or against any issue. I will give you front page coverage and let's see how you fair. It is your chance to be be heard and rally either support or disdain for your opinion. At the end of the day, the one trait that all "Deltans" possess is their opinion!

The site became "stale" due to you not keeping it up. We feel like you have abanoned us. I wouldn't make a post lately because the site master didn't seam to even visit the site. It's not the visitor fault the site has grown stale!
Thank you for updating the site! Keep up the good work!!

know too much already said...

Good God, with all that is going on in Greenville, this site should be booming. There will be a very important meeting of the city "clowncil" Monday morning to address the chief of police. I wish the citizens would speak out about what they think of this bozo Patterson and make their feelings known publicly. I wish the citizens would take a stand on ANYTHING for goodness sake.

Or, it might be that so many people have left that the only ones there now are the ones that let it get this way and don't care, or have something to gain from it. Glad to see you back Forth.

I hope the council will give the chief the boot. He is an embarrassment to Greenville.....just like the mayor.

Until the black community realizes that they must hold themselves responsible for their own lives and their kids lives G'ville will only get worse. They have to see that not voting for the most qualified candidate will lead to the downfall of their hometown along with the country known as America. Morals in the black family have all been forgotten. Why is 75% of all black babies born are to unwed mothers. That is one example that has to be stopped. Another is why are all jails and prisons nearly 90% black? Are you better off now than you were 8 years ago? I think that you are not. Until all these are seriously thought about by the blacks and they realize they effect everyone by their uncivilized ways G'ville and themselves will soon be no more.

What's the scoop on DRMC's new CEO? Surely someone knows or is it just greenville gossip?

Who would want that job?

Anonymous said...

Can we get a new CEO for the City of Greenville????

Just heard about the new CEO at DRMC on WXVT. Didn't catch his name but he is from Ruleville. He looks like a good ole boy. I just hope the alligators don't get him before he gets a chance to drain the "swamp"! I am sure board chose him carefully making sure that he knows that THEY run the hospital.

He needs to start by sweeping the administrative offices CLEAN... beginning with that overpaid ya'zir-boss flunky in human resources. What a joke!

I wish him luck! If he can repair the damage done by Ray-Ray, he will earn his salary.

Geez, give the man a chance. The ink isn't even dry on the contract yet and people are already tearing him down.

I liked what I saw.

Is it true he used to be a coach at Washington School? That is a stretch from Coach to CEO. Maybe he can use some football tactics and give some of our employees the boot who are just here for their 6-fiqure salaries! He will be shocked when he sees the payroll of his Senior Leadership. Especially after he recognizes how little they all know about running a hospital. As soon as he cleans house, he might have a chance to actually begin providing good patient care with his employees who really do work every day.

It isn't the board who runs this hospital. It is a handful of docs and unfortunately they know nothing about running a healthcare facility or even a medical practice. That is why they are all employees of us. They can't run their own offices and make money so all of us are paying for them to do nothing. We hope the new CEO will get rid of the contracts and make the doctors go back to work like they do everywhere else in the real world.
